Why Manna?

To me, Manna represents God’s intuitive provision for whole health. I strive to partner with the wisdom of our Creator in how I practice functional Medicine so that you receive just what your body needs to live as it was made to.

Meet Zack morgan, MD

Dr. Zack attended Abilene Christian University and obtained a Bachelors of Science in Biology with a Chemistry minor and graduated Magna Cum Laude. From there, he attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch before completing an Internal Medicine Residency at Methodist Dallas Medical Center. In residency, he served as Chief Resident his final year, relishing in the opportunity to teach his fellow residents and medical students that rotated with him. Due to his deep passion for teaching, he elected to stay on with his residency program as faculty and continue his time at Dallas Methodist.

While spending the last several years working in a major urban medical system, he has seen thousands of patients suffering with the end effects of health problems that started years or even decades before. That experience created a conviction that there had to be a better way to help people walk in true wellness than what he was currently doing and was a major stimulus that led him to start pursuing a certification in functional medicine to explore what a different kind of medical practice might look like.

In the functional medicine space, he found a new frontier of medical care that actually looked at addressing the root causes of people’s health issues and focused on stopping those end-effects he had been seeing so often in the hospital. Furthermore, the functional medicine space is highly focused on educating patients on how to support their bodies, tying in that deep love for education he found during his training. The more he learns, the more he is convinced that this expression of medical practice invokes the way God intended his people to live, heal and ultimately thrive.

My Approach

Adrenal System

Cortisol is one of the most prominent hormones made by the adrenal glands. It has wide ranging implications on our health and can be related to anything from stress levels to thyroid function, excess weight and immune function. Restoring adrenal balance provides a foundation upon which to build vibrancy.

My approach to functional medicine begins with a focus on 3 main body systems: the Adrenals, the GI system, and the Detox system. By building health within these three body systems, we can provide enough support for the body to find its balance again without going down endless rabbit holes. Living in wellness doesn’t have to be an endless pursuit, it’s what we were created for.

GI System

The importance of a healthy GI system cannot be overstated. Every year, more research comes out showing the ways our gut health can affect our mood, autoimmune conditions, energy levels and much more. It’s also one of the most common sources of hidden inflammation. Addressing our gut microbiomes and healing the gut, can improve energy, inflammation and even our mood.

Detox System

Everyday in our modern world, we experience an onslaught of toxins. Whether it’s the chemicals in our drinking water or food, microplastics finding their way into everything, or the ever-increasing EMF exposure we face, improving our bodies’ abilities to deal with these forces has never been more important.
